What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing (also known as Nature Therapy or Forest Therapy) is a well-being practice inspired by the Japanese tradition of Shinrin Yoku. It combines nature immersion with mindfulness practices to encourage participants to slow down, use their senses and connect with the natural world.

Evidence has shown that forest bathing can promote well-being. It can have benefits such as decreasing stress, easing anxiety / depression and improving immune response.

What is A Forest Bathing WALK?

Forest Bathing walks usually last between 2-3 hours. The experience will start with an introduction, explaining the practice and general structure of the walk, ensuring everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Following the introduction is a series of invitations. Invitations are open ended prompts, a gentle framework from which to explore the natural world. In each walk there are different combinations of invitations used to customize the experience. There will be time to share, if participants wish, throughout the walk.

The walk concludes with an opportunity to reflect on the experience and chat with the Guide and other participants.
